Roadtrip Day 23: Georgetown Lake, MT - Coeur d'Alene, ID.
Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end. This was the last full day of the road trip. We ended up camping near Coeur d'Alene, ID. The following day, we finished driving to Spokane, Washington where I dropped my dad off at the airport. My car a mess from camping out of it the past 24 days, and myself a mess also from camping the past 24 days (minus 1 hotel in Salt Lake City) also, I checked into my training in Spokane.
Not before passing this beauty of a barn though!
And the trip wouldn't be complete without a picture of my 24 day beard.
I also kept track of how much I spent over the 24 days, and it totaled less than $1,500, $531 of which was spent on gas (Columbus, MS - Spokane, WA). Lodging costs for the 24 days totaled less than $300, which when split between multiple people, reduces down quickly. I tried to buy groceries and make my own meals rather than eat out as best I could, while at times not being afraid to splurge on a good meal or two. The 'fun' category of spending was also one I did not skimp on or worry about (horse/kayak rentals/antelope canyon tour/etc). But all this to say, if you don't mind camping (you can still shower at a lot of campgrounds) and being smart with your money, you can still have a ton of fun and get away with a great vacation for less money than you would likely spend at home during that time.
Thank you to Melissa and my dad joining me on my road trip and putting up with me... life is always better shared.
Now quit reading this and go on an adventure!
